Public Artwork. Public art that heals and reflects.

I work in steel and weatherproof materials, and prepared for sculptural commissions in Illinois and other states. Please contact me for more information!

Talking Tree

An abstract form—rising, broken yet unyielding.

A symbol of resilience.

Urban Tree

The concept for Urban Tree was to showcase collaboration among artists seeking to present progressive imagery as a source of positive healing and cultural connection for South Side residents.

Steel and wood were chosen to reflect the community’s industrial past, while the symbols and motifs represented the mixed culture of the area.

The response was overwhelmingly positive and inspiring. The final piece consists of painted steel with attached art panels created by individual artists from the community who became public artists through this project.

Talking Tree

I set out to bridge the gap between communities divided by industrial infrastructure, transforming a once-neglected space into a place of visual calm and reflection. The Talking Tree is an abstract form—rising, broken yet unyielding. A symbol of resilience. It speaks in quiet joy to those who need a moment to pause.

To deepen its impact, student artists from EPIC Academy in Chicago were invited to create artwork that would become part of the sculpture, giving them a voice in the piece’s story.

In the studio, we worked tirelessly to bring The Talking Tree to life before the summer of 2022 ended. With funding from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the structure was reinforced—wood cladding riveted to a welded steel frame, ensuring its strength for years to come. Meeting deadlines was no small feat, but I take pride in the professionalism of my assistants, whose dedication helped turn this vision into reality.
